Background
This is a different product from Mexico that has a lot of claims such as being the first to make Cristalino’s. You’re going to find that much like other tequila’s the marketing will reflect brown sugar, vanilla and the quintessential BLUE WEBBER AGAVE. I swear every bottle I pick up will say this like it’s a newfangled thing, but honestly most people are not going to care. Now if they said something like a brand using Sotol (A cousin of agave) then you may interest people or dis-sway people, but for the most part you just want to know if it’s good or not.

But enough of my small rant, here is a description from Dobel’s website.
Made with 100% pure agave and formulated using a blend of Extra-Añejo, Añejo and Reposado tequilas, this exceptional tequila is unique.
After the tequila has completed its aging process, it goes through a proprietary filtration process that allows us to selectively remove the color, while preserving the tequila’s complexity and smoothness.

This is supposedly the first Cristalino. Now to be honest the validity of this statement is going to be subjective as anyone can say they were the first, but what matters to you or us really is how well does this tequila taste.

This one is complex. We get earthy (what we can describe as that flavor you get initially sipping an herbal or green tea) right off the bat. This is mixed in with flavors of that sweet vanilla mixed with mild flavors of agave. After this we move into the oaky flavors that come from the American Oak barrel at the end. This one is very nice and complex and for the price stands out when compared to others we have such as Mi Familia Reposaado .
Conclusion
This is a fantastic bottle for the price. Honestly, I wish there was more tequilas like this for both price and complexity. This is a very unique bottle as the American Oak barrel that this was aged in. It adds more complexity such as the earthy notes and the woody notes that makes this a multi-layer tequila that I believe a lot of people can approach and enjoy. For me its my, it’s one of the few I can recommend to people over something like Don Julio 70 when wanting to celebrate on a budget. Or just get it to drink as that is also an option.
I don’t believe this will last long and expect that sometime in the future this will slowly, but surely go up in price. But for now, while its priced lower than some other brands we can pour, Salud, and enjoy this tequila expression.
