Distiller information
Since the time i have owned the bottle, the distillers have changed the product from George Remus – Straight Bourbon Whiskey to Remus – Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The label has also been changed to reflect this information as it is now a standard Black label.
Distiller Marketing:
A truly original bourbon, complements of a truly original bootlegger.
A bourbon inspired by the finest bourbon of the Prohibition era. Remus Bourbon captures the rebellious spirit of the Roaring 20s with a hint of vanilla, a maple aroma and a sweet-yet-characteristic rye flavor.

Yes | No, I wouldn’t recommend. |
We noticed that using Ice to chill the drink reduced the potency and flavors. We preferred ours warm to that of being cold. Specifically, room temperature (between 72℉ – 78℉). We noted that the intensity of the oak flavors was muddled to a point that would make us prefer other whiskeys in this price range.
Conclusion
Overall, Remus Straight Whiskey is a solid choice if you are looking for a step up from the $20 catagory such as Makers Mark, Jim Bean, or Jack Daniels. Solid option to branch out from these options.
